Branding Your Business
One of my clients, Deb DiSandro, a highly creative, professional speaker shared with me that her specialty was bringing laughter and learning to all of her presentations. Her funny videos and clever writing definitely reflected that. But I must confess, and I did to her (being frank with my clients is one of my specialties), that I didn’t entirely understand her company name – Slightly Off. I also wasn’t sure that clients would take her seriously, if she played up the fact that she was, well, slightly off!
A few weeks later, when I met with Deb to share some of the changes I had made to her old website, I also showed her the new title I had been working on.
Suddenly she shouted, “That’s it! You’ve got it, Wilma! I’m Slightly Off-On Purpose! I have a purpose to my silliness and humor. I use creative concepts and even costumes to get my message across, which is to achieve success with more fun and less stress. I’m Slightly Off on Purpose!”
Deb says after 20 years in business, no one has been able to see her message so clearly. That is the goal I have with all of my clients, and most often achieve that result. But no one has expressed it as exuberantly as Deb. Thanks for letting me share your story, Deb.
